I Don't Yell Often But...

I don't yell often. It's one of those items I save in the "parenting arsenal" and only break out when absolutely necessary. Without going into the gory details, suffice it to say -- crayons and a kitchen table (one I built and finished myself).

"Daddy, slow down, take a deeeeeep breath and stop yelling. I hear you!"

I did, I did and I did!

Been there. Coffee table. I had to tile the top because they ruined it. *sigh* Sometimes we overflow. And then calm back down. They learn that everyone gets angry and that you were able to calm down. All good lessons even if it's sometimes regretful.

Eeewww...didn't you learn anything from my traumatic experience with the TV? No crayons ever. Screw their artistic abilities.

Really though, I'm having sympathy pains for you. Those crayons...they get me every time.

I think your kiddo's response is gentle... which means your example must be gentle and you shouldn't worry too much.

Thanks for the support, guys. He has the wisdom of a 100 year old man in a 4 year old body.

Karly - No, I didn't learn my lesson after your example, silly me, I don't listen well. Working Gal thinks that Disney is the devil... I say Crayola is the devil and Disney's a close second!
